Our recent IIT BLV Multi-Sports Come & Try Day was a huge success! Thanks again to CHAD Care Services for helping make it possible and enabling the expansion of sports offered.
BIG thanks also goes to our amazing volunteers, partners, and the 7 News team for their continued support.
We aim to achieve two key goals at these events:
1. Creating more opportunities for people who are blind or have low vision to experience the benefits of sport, in physical, social and mental health terms.
2. Giving sighted people the chance to step into the shoes of BLV participants – building awareness and understanding, and creating more passionate advocates for greater community inclusion.
The series of images below capture this reality in action, with BLV Tigers cricketers teaming up with local club players, first-time attendees learning Blind Golf, and people of diverse cultures, genders and ages engaging with a variety of adaptive sports together.

Thanks also to 7-TasNews for the great coverage and ongoing support. Watch the broadcast story video here.
It was a fantastic day full of fun and friendship, and we can’t wait to do it again soon!
